Construction of a new 670 gallon per min pump station.

Overview

The Macedonia Elevated Tank and Pump Station Improvement Project includes upgrades to the water infrastructure in the Macedonia service area, which is located west of the City of Gaffney.  Based on a study completed in 2021 by the engineering firm of Black & Veatch, infrastructure improvements were essential to the Macedonia distribution system for accommodating the system’s future growth through the year 2040. This project includes upgrading Macedonia’s existing 75,000-gallon elevated water storage tank to a 350,000-gallon tank; construction of a new 670 gallon per minute (gpm) pump station along Love Springs Road; and upgrading the current Macedonia Pump Station along Old Post Road from 192 gpm firm capacity to 670 gpm.
