Project Hope

Project Hope is a charitable program created by the Board of Public Works (BPW) to assist needy customers—especially the elderly, handicapped, and those on fixed incomes—by helping them pay their utility bills during difficult times.

You can help by enrolling in our 'Round-Up' program. Each month, your utility bill will be rounded up to the next dollar. The maximum monthly contribution is just $0.99 — small change for you, big impact for someone in need.

You may also make a one-time or recurring direct contribution to the Project Hope fund. Funds are distributed through PeachCenter Ministries, a local charitable organization operated by area churches.

Qualification Guidelines

  • Must be a BPW customer and funds must be used to pay BPW utility bills.
  • Must have exhausted all BPW bill extension options.
  • Must show financial condition beyond their control or sudden hardship.
  • Priority given to elderly, handicapped, or fixed-income individuals.
  • Maximum assistance is $200 per year.
